Who is behind Peru Informations Website?

My name is François Painchaud, and I am an Web enthusiast and travel aficionado. I can see that many people are flummoxed by the diversity of my passions. How can IT professionals also be itinerant travelers? Aren’t they supposed to stay glued to their laptops or servers?

To tell you the truth, the nature of my interests are perfectly compatible, as no other profession will allow you to operate from anywhere in the world with an Internet connection. But I haven’t been balancing the two passions since long. My association with the Internet has been for nearly 15 years, while I got hooked to Latin America barely two years back. I have already spent over a year living in and traveling all across Latin America.

When I started working with information technology, interesting things were happening to the world. The Internet revolution was on its way, and I was soon engulfed and found myself working in server management on the Linux environment.

By 1998 I had quit my job to form my own company, helping SMEs cope with the challenges thrown up by the Internet. Shortly we were doing things like building websites, critical data hosting, developing software and providing a wide variety of software solutions from customer relationship management solutions to integrated management software solutions. Over 400 projects delivered.

Then one day I visited Latin America, and fell in love with the place. Proceeded to sell my company, and prepared myself for a new adventure with a laptop and a luggage.

This website was built to share my experiences and research during my time in Peru.

Bon voyage!
