Traveling to Peru involves more than just boarding a plane and touching down in historical paradise, so the Peru tourist must be aware of the travel requirements. In order to travel to Peru and back, there are a few critical requirements that every Peru tourist must have, including the proper visa, entry information, and passport papers. Visa Information


In order to travel to Peru for tourism purpose, you must apply for a tourist visa if and only if your stay will be for 90 days or greater. However, if your trip is going to be longer than that, you must apply for a visa with the Washington DC, San Francisco, or New York offices. To apply for a visa the Peru tourist must have a valid US passport and a valid driver’s license or state ID, while also completing the required visa application.

Entry Information


To enter or exit Peru, the Peru tourist must have a valid passport and provide evidence of return travel, or onward travel from their tourist location. After being granted admission into Peru, tourists may apply for an extended visa if they wish to extend the trip or visit. If you stay in the region longer than the stay approved at the time of entrance there were be a fine assessed in order for the Peru tourist to leave Peru.

Passport Information


Any tourist can apply for a US passport online, but if you do happen to lose your passport, or if it is stolen during your trip to Peru, you can and must pay to replace it at the US Embassy and then present that to the proper Peruvian authorities in order to obtain permission to depart Peru.
