If you are a Mountaineering enthusiast, the Cordillera Blanca accessed via the Huaraz town is the best place for you in Peru. There are a number of peaks that are over 5000 m. If that is not enough, there are 33 others which are 6000m, the highest of them being Huascaran standing tall at 6768m. Cordillera Huayhuash is about 4 hours if you take a bus journey from Huaraz and holds seven summits with heights exceeding 6000m.
