Nazca Lines Peru is supposedly a geoglyphs which is situated in the Nazca Desert. Located in the Pampas de Jumana, the plateau stretches fifty miles across and links the town of Nazca with Palpa. The Nazca Lines Peru was supposedly created between 200 BC and 700 AD by the inhabitants of Nazca and is therefore symbolic to the city’s culture. If you look closely at the figures, you would realize that there are numerous animal forms and species with special regards to monkeys, fish, lizards, hummingbirds, sharks, spiders and lamas.
Located in the south eastern region of Peru, the city of Puno is supposed to be a beautiful locale. It is situated on the shores of the highest navigable lake in the world called Lake Titicaca. The lake is located three thousand eight hundred and sixty meters above the sea level. Puno Peru is also the largest city of the Puno region and is located in the Puno province.
A Brief History of Puno
Located in southern Peru, Arequipa is supposedly the capital city of the Arequipa region. It is considered the second most populated city in the country and is scenically nestled in the Andes Mountains. The city is nicknamed the white city after its buildings which made out of white rock. It is interesting to note that the historic center of Arequipa has been named a world heritage site by UNESCO. Arequipa Peru is nestled at a height of seven thousand eight hundred feet above the sea level and has a snow capped volcano called El Misti.
Lima is the capital of Peru and is considered the country’s largest city. The city of Lima is located in a valley and comprises of the Chillon, the Rimac and the Lurin rivers. Francisco Pizarro, a Spanish conquistador, founded the city in the year 1535. After the Peruvian war of independence, the city became very important and was considered a major area for trade and commerce. Today, it comprises one third of the total Peruvian population and is famous for the Callao port.
